Combine a visit to a strawberry farm with a trip to Nami Island on this family-friendly day trip from Seoul. At the farm, pick lots of deliciously ripe strawberries and learn how to make fresh strawberry jam. Then head to Nami Island, which is popular for its wildlife, art galleries and gardens. Take great photos as you stroll along its tree-lined paths with a guide who points out TV filming locations and other sights. Includes lunch and round-trip transport from Seoul hotels.
Please note: This seasonal tour runs annually between December'and June. The dates are subject to change.
After hotel pickup in the morning, your day trip starts with the 1-hour drive through the countryside from Seoul to the strawberry farm.
Upon arrival, meet members of the farm staff, who share fun facts about strawberries and show you how to find the best ones to pick. Then take your provided basket and start picking; you may take up to 2.2 pounds (1 kg) per adult and up to 1.1 pounds (0.5 kg) per child back to Seoul with you.
Next, learn how to make jam during a hands-on demonstration by the staff. It only takes a few simple steps to create tasty strawberry jam; follow your instructor's lead for mashing the fruit, adding sugar and cooking the jam in a pot. When the lesson is over, you'll receive your own jar of fresh jam to take with you.
Back in your tour vehicle, make the 1-hour drive from the farm to Nami Island, stopping on the way for lunch. When you reach the island, walk along its tranquil tree-lined paths with your guide and hear about how the island became famous when the hit Korean TV show Winter Sonata (Gyeoul Yeonga) filmed there. Winter Sonata won a devoted Korean and international following after its 2002 release, and you can see locations where many scenes were filmed between stars Yu-jin and Jun-sang.
Nami Island is also known for being a natural oasis away from the city. Wander through the several gardens; look for resident wildlife like ostriches, deer, rabbits, ducks, squirrels, chipmunks and birds; or perhaps visit cultural attractions such as the child-friendly Picture Book Library or the handicraft studio.
Your day trip ends with hotel drop-off in Seoul after the 2-hour return drive from Nami Island.
