Enjoy this half-day afternoon tour of Seoul, which will introduce you to the Bukak Skyway and Palgakjeong, Changdeokgung palace before stopping at the Insadong shopping area and Namdaemnun market.
Once you are picked-up at your hotel, you will head to the Bukak Skyway and stop at the Palgakjeong (Octagonal Pavilion) on a Bugaksan Mountain.
The road offers lovely views of Bukhansan Mountain's Bibong Peak and Munsubong Peak on one side and Namsan Mountain on the other side. The road quickly became known as one of Korea's most scenic driving routes.
Then you will head to the Changdeokgung Palace. Its name means 'to brighten virtue,' and is the name of Korea's most successfully preserved palace, now UNESCO-protected. It represents the beauty of Korea.
You will also explore the Insadong Antique Shop Alley, to experience the traditional culture of Korea while remaining at the heart of the city. With art galleries, traditional craft stores, antique art dealers, traditional tea houses and restaurants, it is a must-see.
Later visit Namsangol Hanok Village located between the tall buildings in the middle of a normal city scene by Exits 3 and 4 of Chungmuro Subway Station. This village has five restored traditional Korean houses, a pavilion, a pond and a time capsule as well, making it a perfect spot to take a leisure walk. On the grounds are traditional games that you may try such as neolttwigi (seesaw jumping), tuhonori (arrow throwing) and yutnori (traditional board game).' (On Mondays Namsangol Hanok is closed. Instead you will go to Bukchon Hanok Village) Afterwards you will go to Namdaemun Gate(Sungnyemun or South Gate) and walk in and admire the gate.
Then you will head to the Namdaemun Market, which is an open-air market. It is close to the down-town area and deluxe hotels, and it boasts the very best selection of merchandise. The market's history dates back to the Joseon Dynasty.
