Day Trip To Nami Island And Gangchon Elysian Ski Resort From Seoul


This 9-hour day trip is the perfect combination of adventure and sightseeing. Start with a visit to Nami Island, a beautiful'half moon-shaped island where a number of popular Korean dramas have been filmed. In the afternoon, you can choose to go skiing, snow sliding, or just enjoy the snow at'Gangchon Elysian Ski Resort.

Your tour begins with a pickup from your accommodations in Seoul and then head to Nami Island, which takes about an hour by car. You will arrive at the pier at Gapyeong where you will then board a ferry to Nami Island. The ferry rides takes about 10 minutes.

Upon arrival, explore the beauty of the island, which became famous as it was the filming location of the Korea drama, "Winter Sonata." This place is breathtaking no matter what season you come to visit. In the winter, the area is covered with pristine snow and you will find street vendors selling delicious local treats as you walk around the tree-lined streets.

After leaving Nami Island, return to the pier by ferry where you will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant that serves Dakgalbi (spicy chicken stirfry), the famous local dish in this area. If you don't like spicy food, you can also opt to enjoy roast chicken instead.

After lunch, head to'Gangchon Elysian Ski Resort, which is just about'15 minutes from Nami Island.

Your first stop will be the ski shop to rent necessary gear for your chosen activity. For those that selected skiing, head to the ski resort where your instructor will provide more information on how to begin. He or she will provide you with a basic ski lesson for about an hour and you will be able to ski freely afterwards with the supervision of your instructor.

For snow sliding, your guide will'provide you with your snow sliding tickets (extra cost). Note: this option is only available from mid December to mid February.

After returning your rentals, you will head back to Seoul and will stop by a Korean Ginseng Center before getting dropped off at your hotel.
